Please note: most industrial nails come coated in a light "black grease" to protect the nails from rust. I generally comb through some lower quality wool to clean my nails, but you can also scrub and cleanse them beforehand. This step is optional.
Simply use a hammer to tap the 16d bright finish, common nails into the recessed side of the hackle, starting at one end and working your way down. The same principles for assembly apply for both the wool combs (see other listings) and the hackles.
The hackle can be secured to your work table either with clamps or by fastening bolts through the holes on each side.
